Olympic Travel Information

We are located a short walk to Brockley station in South East London. From here it is a 25 minute commute via Jubilee Line to Stratford Tube station to the Olympic Park for the Aquatics centre, the Velodrome and the Olympic Stadium.

It is 15-17 minutes to the North Greenwich Arena for the Gymnastics, Trampolining and Basketball. We are within walking or cycling distance to Greenwich Park for the Equestrian events . We are also a short distance away from the Lewisham DLR for alternative routes to many Olympic sites.

Our house is available to rent any time between mid July and the end of August. We would prefer a longer let and can negotiate an appropriate price reduction for that.

Home
We live in south east London in a Victorian period property on a quiet residential street. Downstairs, once inside the front door, we have a living room/tv room on your left with a working fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD and Stereo. It is a lovely room to relax in. This room also has a very comfortable pull out sofa bed.
Adjacent to that is a second reception room - at the moment it is used as our children’s playroom – full of toys suitable for kids age 3 – 7 approximately. This room could be converted either to an office space with computer, printer, scanner etc. or to a fourth bedroom if that was required. Beyond that is the kitchen/dining room which has French doors leading out to a small garden. The kitchen was completely renovated in 2007 and has all the necessary appliances including a washing machine and tumble dryer. The oven is electric with a gas ring hob on the top. The garden has Weber barbeque and a deck area with patio table and chairs.
Upstairs there are three double bedrooms: the master bedroom overlooks the front of the house. The middle bedroom has two single beds and the bedroom to the rear of the house is also a double bedroom.
There is a WIFI internet connection available throughout the house.
The family bathroom has a bath/shower combination and a WC.

Neighbourhood
For non-Olympic travel, we are extremely well connected for public transport to central London or to the Kent/Sussex countryside and coast. We are located between four main transport routes –Brockley station (see Olympic information above). From there you can also travel into Westminster/Oxford Street etc. in 20 minutes. Trains to London Bridge take 15 minutes and depart from Ladywell station which is a 10 minute walk away. Our nearest station, Crofton Park, is a 3 minute walk away and has a 17 minute connection into Victoria or Blackfriars station. This is in addition to multiple bus routes. There are also many cycle routes which can take you to almost any corner of London.
More locally we are in a triangle between three local parks, each with playgrounds, tennis courts, and pleasant walking. There are numerous cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
There is also an excellent golf course Dulwich and Sydenham Golf Club in this neighbourhood.
Lastly, we are about a 60 minute car journey from the Channel Tunnel port with frequent train+car services to France. You can easily take a day trip to Calais and the north of France and be back home by the evening.

Lifestyle
We have lovely neighbours on either side who would be happy to help you out with any queries. We have two adult bicycles and one child bicycle.
